About Your Host
Rita Hiatt is an Assistant Director of ABA Services at ABS Kids in Winston-Salem, NC. She holds a Master of Arts in Psychology from Florida Atlantic University, where her research focused on how variations in stimulus input affect young children’s ability to learn novel words. She later earned a second Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Western Michigan University and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in 2017. Rita has provided ABA services across home, school, and clinic settings, working with children of all ages and abilities. Her professional interests include relational frame theory, acceptance and commitment training, and the intersection between cognition and behavior analysis. She is passionate about using this lens to support flexible, meaningful language development in the learners she serves.
