Autism Acceptance Month is celebrated in April, but here at ABS Kids, we expand the celebrations all year long. Not only by providing autism diagnosis and ABA therapy in our centers, but also by providing resources to families with autistic children.

One of our South Carolina-based Clinical Psychologists, Katie Franke, PhD, BCBA, joined Tyler Ryan on ABC Columbia to discuss what acceptance and inclusion look like all 12 months of the year.

“Broadly, it’s about community education. Making sure the public is aware of what autism is,” Katie said in the interview. “Learn what the signs are that their child may benefit from an autism evaluation. And again, how to make everyday life just inclusive for all folks, especially folks with autism.”

ABS Kids also works in the community to support sensory-friendly events. Several centers provide free Tot Time sessions as an introduction to ABS Kids autism services.

Katie Franke is part of our team of Clinical Psychologists providing autism diagnosis in California, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Utah. Learn more about our services at one of our convenient locations here.
