Fifteen years ago, ABS Kids began with a dream: to help autistic children and their families find support, opportunity, and hope. Today, that dream is a vibrant reality, impacting hundreds of lives every single day. As we celebrate this milestone, we honor not just a company, but a movement, driven by caring professionals, courageous families, and the remarkable children at the heart of it all.
We asked our Founder and President, Jeff Skibitsky, to share his perspective on our journey and what’s next for ABS Kids. His words remind us what really matters: compassion, expanding access to care, and the incredible power of teamwork.
Our Mission: Growing Together, Leading with Heart
“The mission has always been to provide high-quality support for families and autistic children,” Jeff recalls. That meant helping kids connect with their communities and helping families move from isolation to inclusion.
But as ABS Kids grew, so did our vision. We challenged ourselves, constantly looking for better ways to serve, new ways to empower, and smarter ways to lead. What’s changed? Today, there’s an entire team behind every decision, in every region we operate. What hasn’t changed? Our unwavering commitment to high-quality care for every child and our dedication to expanding access to care wherever we can.
Our workforce trained, learned, and stepped up. Technicians grew into clinicians. Clinicians grew into leaders. And leaders inspired even more forward movement, not only inside ABS Kids, but across the industry.
Today, that original mission is alive and evolving in every one of our 80 centers, in every session, and in every WOW moment. And it belongs to everyone; no single person carries it alone. As Jeff puts it,
“This 15-year milestone isn’t a personal achievement. It’s an ABS Kids win! A collective success built by passionate, dedicated people.”
Listening Changes Lives: The ABS Kids Way
What sets ABS Kids apart? It’s the willingness to listen; really listen. Across all roles and backgrounds, everyone’s ideas matter. “Great ideas come from the entirety of an organization,” Jeff says. Our best work happens when clinicians, administrators, and, especially, families and individuals with autism, are part of the conversation.
At ABS Kids, feedback drives growth. Challenges are met head-on, together. We celebrate differences, encourage new perspectives, and work as a team; because together, we’re always stronger.
WOW Moments: Where Magic and Dedication Meet
Our story is written in WOW moments; those small victories that grow into lifelong change.
Jeff will never forget the story of a young girl who struggled to find her voice. She faced severe challenges: minimal speech, behavioral struggles, and a world that often seemed too overwhelming. For a time, no school or provider could meet her needs.
But the ABS Kids team did not give up. “We worked with her, her family, and her medical team. Every little breakthrough felt huge; seeing her use words instead of aggression, watching her reconnect with school, and helping her family rediscover community,” Jeff shares.
Today, that young woman is thriving: learning, working, and living more independently. Her family, once isolated, is now fully embraced by their community. This is just one of hundreds of WOW moments; proof that hope, persistence, and teamwork change lives.
